Softpaw yawned widely as the first rays of the sun peeked over the horizon. It illuminated the camp in a faint, golden glow, warming her fur and sending warm chills down her spine. She smiled lightly, her brilliant blue eyes glowing as she strolled through the warm sunshine. She settled down comfortably just outside of the apprentice’s den, her fur fluffed up to absorb as much warmth as she could. She was content to blend in with the surroundings; not a lot of cats talked to her, and when they did, she made an idiot out of herself by stumbling all over her words. It was too early to be worrying about what everyone thought about her, however, so she settled on grooming her fur in the sunshine. Such warmth was rare this time of the year, and Softpaw watched as a leaf fluttered down from overhead until it settled on her nose. She went cross-eyed staring at the leaf, and then sneezed, giggling to herself as it floated up and then back down to the ground. She batted at it with a paw, looking amused, and then plopped down in the dirt to stare at it. Leaves were so…funny. They changed colors, they changed texture. When it was cold, they crackled and broke, and when it was warm, they were soft and fluttery. “Leaves are so pretty,” she breathed to herself, trying and failing not to laugh again. She rolled over on her back, forgetting about the fact that she’d just managed to get her fur completely clean, and tossed the leaf into the air, batting at it with her paws. If she could have a whole tree of leaves, she would. Then life would be complete.

“Is anyone here?” Snowpaw asked as he peered through the medicine cat’s den. He was searching for his brother, for the white apprentice managed to get a scratch from a bramble some time when he was asleep. Although it didn’t bleed or anything, the white apprentice still visited the medicine den just in case his very small scar needed to be treated (but mainly because he just wanted to visit Redpaw). With whatever attention-span he has, the white apprentice went back after he heard no one answer his call. They must’ve been getting herbs or doing some medicine cat stuff. Fortunately, he saw his fellow apprentice, Softpaw, which gave him something to do in the meantime. “Leaf!”The playful white apprentice charged straight to his brown-and-white den-mate, whom Snowpaw saw playing with the leaves that had fallen from the towering trees up above the two of them. If Softpaw was playing all by herself, Snowpaw welcomed himself to join her have fun with what play-things the resources gave them. He didn’t waste any second running across the camp all the way to Softpaw’s location to kill some time playing with her. Snowpaw doesn’t even have anything to do in this time of the day, as his day as an apprentice doesn’t start till his mentor takes him out. Switching his focus from Softpaw to her leaf, the white apprentice charged straight and aimed at the fluttering leaf-fall leaf. With a timed jump, Snowpaw pounced over the other apprentice and snatched the leaf she was playing with by a delicate nip. He felt so skilled and graceful for a moment, that is, before he took a crash landing. He tumbled over just after he took the leaf, rolling all the way to their den and messing some of the nests. Although some would be embarrassed after a failed act, Snowpaw was so childish that he feels that he can be a kit whenever he wants.

- - - - - - - - - - - A yawn stretched his jaws apart as the apprentice opened his amber eyes. A quick glance toward the opening of the den told him that it was before dawn, the sun's rays etched onto the dark sky. He stood up, stretching his spine until his tail tip quivered before leaping neatly out of his nest. Another yawn forced his eyelids to close over his bleary eyes, his gaze slightly sharper when they re-opened. With a quick glance to his mentor, Redpaw padded towards the place they kept the herbs and started nosing the piles. Hmm.. Not much is needed to be done, we've got enough to last us through leaf-fall and leaf-bare. Still..
The dark russet tom trotted out of the den and towards the pine forest, his nose in the air and searching for any herbs that had lasted the cool months so far. By dawn, the medicine cat apprentice loped into camp not having found any herbs so far- and faintly annoyed by his wasted efforts. He wasn't sure of what to do now, Cricketleap was probably sleeping or off doing StarClan knew what, so he was pretty much free for the morning.
A flashof white caught his eye and he spotted Snowpaw backing out from the medicine cat den. With a worried frown on his features, Redpaw followed his brother's movements and saw him heading towards another apprentice whose name he couldn't remember.. Was it.. Smallpaw or something? He couldn't care less as at that moment, he heard a cry of "Leaf!" before Snowpaw ran towards the leaves that fluttered down from the towering trees. He barely managed to suppress a grin as the white apprentice crash landed and knocked into some nests. With a sigh, he padded over to the two felines, his amber gaze cold as usual. "Honestly Snowpaw, can't I leave you for a heartbeat without you getting into trouble? Anyway, did you hurt yourself or something? I saw you coming out from my den." the medicine cat apprentice meowed cooly as he came to a stop outside the apprentice den. He was careful not to let his brother know that he was worried and stuck to his usual cocky attitude. He flicked a bored glance towards the brown and white she-cat which might have been a greeting or anything else. This was Redpaw in a positively cheerful mood.
OOC: Brother time! xD I think Red's in a really good mood.. maybe :3

One second the leaf was there, and the next, a white shadow had soared over her head and snatched it out of thin air. Softpaw blinked, confused, and stared up at the sky. Where…what had just happened? She rose to her paws, glancing around curiously, before her gaze alighted on a very awkward looking Snowpaw. It seemed he’d made some sort of crash landing after snatching her leaf from the air. Softpaw’s ears flattened against her head as she debated slinking off to one of the dens and pretending nothing had just happened, or checking to see if Snowpaw was okay. He didn’t seem hurt, really, but she couldn’t be sure. Tentatively, she snuck towards him, her belly brushing the ground. He’d made a mess of all the nests, that was for sure. Softpaw mentally ‘tsked’ as she thought about all the work she’d have to do to get her nest back to the way she liked it. Snowpaw was ridiculously clumsy. She stopped just short of him, and stared carefully at the white apprentice; he looked wholly amusing where he was sprawled out after his ‘graceful landing.’ “S-Snowpaw?” she managed to squeak, her voice as soft as her name, and almost less than a whisper. “Um…are-are you-” But she never finished her question, as another cat padded towards them. Softpaw bristled and leapt away before their fur could so much as brush, and landed a few inches away, eyes wide. It was Redpaw, the medicine cat apprentice. He was always so-so prickly! He frightened her, and Softpaw wondered if that ‘hasty retreat’ she’d thought about earlier would be called for now.. She tucked her chin against her furry chest, keeping her gaze downcast as she determinedly decided that she still needed to be sure Snowpaw was all right. Judging from Redpaw’s smooth voice, he didn’t sound all that worried. “S-Snowpaw,” she began again, keeping her gaze studiously on her paws. “You-you…d-didn’t h-hurt yourself…did you?” she squeaked, her voice barely audible above the breeze that scent the leaves above rattling on their branches.

Tumbling down all the way from the entrance to one of his fellow apprentice’s nests, Snowpaw made an embarrassment in front of Softpaw. Although it took some luck in Snowpaw’s part to catch the leaf in time, his luck still wasn’t enough for him to make a good landing. The leaf was still intact in the white apprentice’s gentle nip, but Snowpaw’s fur definitely was not as groomed as ever. When he could have groomed his fur sleek and clean before the day starts, Softpaw still remained in his active and playful self, not taking a break just to groom yourself when you could enjoy the time doing something else.
As he stood up, a very familiar russet face was standing outside the apprentice’s den. “Redpaw!” the white tom squeaked. The time when Snowpaw checked the medicine den for any signs of a ginger cat, Redpaw wasn't there, and now, his brother was in the apprentice's den. “Oh, yeah, I have this itchy spot over here. I think it was from the brambles or something.” He pointed a scratch on his back, just to show his brother what he was pertaining at. “It’s not serious right? At least it’s not bleeding. Will you need to put some herbs on it?” Snowpaw was overreacting, though unconsciously, about checking the medicine cat’s den for a small scratch.
The stuttering Snowpaw heard in the background as he was blabbering with his brother took his attention. Softpaw was always so reserved to herself that others may not seem to notice her most of the time. I think Softpaw asked me if I hurt myself... He skipped from the destroyed and messy nests towards Softpaw and assured her that he was fine with a smile. “I’m alright," he answered. “The nests seem to lessen the pain in my fall. They’re pretty soft, no wonder we use them!” Almost all of Snowpaw’s words seem too obvious when he’s giving a conclusion, making Snowpaw’s image look dumb. Let’s just say Snowpaw’s way of thinking hasn’t evolved yet since his kithood days.
“Say Softpaw,” the white apprentice whispered in his denmate’s ear, “would you mind talking to Redpaw for a bit? He didn’t cuss earlier and I’m not sure if he’s sick or something...” Redpaw had a reputation of having the sharpest tongue among all the apprentices in ShadowClan, so it’s only natural for Snowpaw to worry if he hadn’t yelled “shrew-brain” or something. It’s not every day you can experience Redpaw like this. “Don’t worry, he doesn’t bite, I think...” OOC: Sorry, late post. Snowpaw supports RedxSoft by starting their relationship with a forced conversation. Also, I just noticed Spider's post was posted on 11:11.

A slight frown creased on his forehead as the ginger apprentice glanced around the camp. Dawn had come and there was still no sign of his grey and white mentor. The frown was quickly replaced by a barely suppressed grin as he rewound to when he had approached the two felines who were in his company now; the patched female quickly drawing away from his snowy sibling. It had been amusing, watching the she - cat get so... uncomfortable. Cold amber eyes watched as the female apprentice, Softpaw as she was called apparently, tucked her chin in determination and began to stutter as she questioned Snowpaw of his well - being. "Anyone who knows Snowpaw will know that he's about as thick - skinned as a badger. He won't let any fall harm him." he meowed to himself softly, shaking his head.
"Yes, I do know that my name is Redpaw, are you going to tell me that I live in ShadowClan next?" Redpaw meowed dryly when his brother called his name. Giving a yawn, the medicine cat apprentice padded slowly towards his brother as he complained about an itch. An itch. Honestly? "You do know that brambles cause scratches and not itches, right? Never knew a bramble could make you have an itch." he sighed as patiently as he could, which wasn't very patient at all. When he drew closer, he saw a tiny red patch on his brother's fur. "It's fine. Not like you're going to be infected or anything." he reassured his sibling.
Redpaw had to hand it to his brother for being the most caring sibling a cat could ever have, coming to the medicine cat den with an itch and maybe having to eat yucky herbs? Not every cat would do that just to see their siblings. Of course he knew what was the actual intention of Snowpaw's going to the den for, and it was actually quite nice considering Redpaw was such a pain at times. "We use nests so that we can be well - rested for the next day and not so that they can soften the fall of a clumsy apprentice." he chuckled softly as he sat down. He tilted his head slightly as Snowpaw whispered into Softpaw's ear, barely catching the words. "Just because I didn't call you a clumsy bumbling badger doesn't mean I'm sick." Redpaw grumbled, his eyes narrowing. "Would you like to see if I do bite?" the dark russet apprentice offered, baring his ivory teeth.

Softpaw drew back slightly, her ears latching themselves onto the back of her head. “O-Oh,” she managed, her voice no more than a squeak. “W-well, I’m glad you’re not hurt…S-Snowpaw.” She glanced around at the damage done to the nests, and offered in a small voice; “Per-perhaps I can help you get everything…b-back together, Snowpaw? I d-don’t have much to do to-today. I wouldn’t mind. And-and I think it may partially be m-my fault.”
She felt bad that she’d inadvertently caused such a mess. She was also trying quite hard not to get in Redpaw’s way. Perhaps if she ignored him as long as possible, he wouldn’t snap at her, like he did with the other cats. She wasn’t sure if she could stay on his good side if she managed to garner his attention in any way. Gulping down her trepidation, she opened her jaws to tell Snowpaw that they should get started cleaning up the mess, when he interrupted her and forced her jaws shut with an audible ‘click.’ She could feel her cheeks heat with a blush beneath her fur as her eyes darted worriedly from Snowpaw to Redpaw.
Was Snowpaw implying that Redpaw would or could bite? She certainly hoped not! Gulping, she turned towards Redpaw, lowering herself just slightly to be out of his direct line of sight. “R-Redpaw,” she acknowledged, dipping her head and wondering why StarClan seemed to put her in such awkward situations. She ‘eeped’ softly when he offered to let them see if he ‘did bite,’ and quickly took a few steps back. “N-No, that’s quite all r-right,” she managed, lowering her gaze to her paws.
“I-I think we s-should get the nest cleaned up be-before the other apprentices see it. Perhaps after that I-I could…Um…leave. I d-don’t want to be in your way, after all R-Redpaw. I know you must be very…busy, being the, um, medicine cat apprentice and a-all. So I’ll just…uh…” she shuffled her paws awkwardly, shuffling the broken branches and nests around her into a somewhat more acceptable position for sleeping in again.
((OOC: Sorry for the wait guys; I feel super bad about taking so long. I promise to be more prompt in the future. <3))

;; g a l e p a w Before any other apprentices take notice? It was too late for that, jerks.
Although Galepaw silently assure Softpaw it wasn't her the tomcat was angry at. Snowpaw and Redpaw were always running amok everywhere they went. Redpaw had the most annoying, horrid mouth that set fiery blood rushing through Galepaw's viens whenever he spoke. The apprentice's brother wasn't any better, worse, if anything. In fact, Snowpaw had managed to, single handedly, destroy the peace of half of the apprentice's den. The two of them where like a wildfire and a tornado, when they got together no cat was safe.
Softpaw, on the other paw, was okay. She was soft-spoken and timid. The young she-cat had done nothing, but been a victim of ridiculous antics, for Galepaw to despise her for. He, in fact, secretly wanted to get to know her. However, letting any cat in would result in them seeing him vulnerable and taking the opportunity to do away with him.
He quickly dismissed thoughts of striking a conversation with Softpaw.
Yet, as always, the young tom just lay in his moss bed, shining blue eyes simply watching the exchanges. He spoke not of his thoughts or allowed them to display on his face. He looked rather alarmed at everything that happened, brown ears pricked and eyes wide. His moss bedding had hardly been out of the way of the tragic wipe-out.
His fur pricked and he cautiously got up, ears now pointed back and eyes fixed fiercely oh his bedding as he started pawing at the moss, trying to make it more organized. As if that would somehow help organize the rest of the den.
He wished they would just leave. Galepaw would have even suggested he, alone, could clean up the wreckage. Blue eyes then lifted and gave a cautious, pleading look at the three young cats.
ooc;; hope you guys dont mind me jumping in o3o

“Is being sarcastic fun?” Snowpaw asked his brother curiously, but still had a hint of innocence with the tone of it. “I haven’t tried being one before...”
The white apprentice had pondered what his life would be if he had been like his brother. Instead of happily bouncing around the camp all day long, playing with the kits if he has time or helping out whoever needed help, sarcastic Snowpaw would probably just walk around the clearing and finish whatever job he needs to finish. If ever someone would walk up to him and talk to him, he could probably stop their conversation before it even happened. Like his brother, he wouldn’t have that many friends. He had his thoughts end with a heavy sigh. “That probably wouldn’t work.”
Although he was chuckling at his previous imaginings, it all stopped as he noticed Softpaw shuffle her paws about. She seemed too overwhelmed by the siblings’ sea of words. It would have lasted longer if Redpaw was in the mood, which he fortunately isn’t. Even then, Softpaw still looked all fidgety and uncomfortable whenever Redpaw’s there. This made the white apprentice wonder if his brother already had the air of a medicine cat even though he was hardly through with a moon as an apprentice. Nevertheless, Softpaw’s humble and thoughtful actions influenced Snowpaw to do the same. After all, he was the reason of the mess.
“I’ll help! I’ll help!” Snowpaw called, feeling guilty of what he had done. He was the one who was supposed to clean, not Softpaw. He wasted no second to aid the she-cat in her quest to fix all of the broken nests in order to make it up to her. With moss and bracken all over the place, it would probably take effort in Snowpaw’s place to repair their den to be as good as new. “We’ll finish this before the sun completely rises!” he exclaimed. Faster than Softpaw’s awkward paws could do, the apprentice quickly rushed to collect all the moss back and placed it neatly back on its original form. “I guess this isn’t too bad.” OOC: Snowpaw, it isn't nice to ignore older apprentices, you know.

After having shown his teeth for a few heartbeats he closed his mouth, looking over his shoulder in hopes of finding the grey - and - white fur of his mentor. Nothing. Disappointed, he turned back to the two apprentices that were currently in his company -- three apprentices as another apprentice joined in their midst without a word. Great, exactly what he wanted: three apprentices among him to make him feel.. uncomfortable. A surprised shadow crossed his eyes when the pretty patched apprentice whom he still could not recall, lowered herself while dipping her head awkwardly. Angling his head slightly, he gazed at her with his amber eyes narrowed. Something stirred within him but he couldn't understand what he was feeling , to tell the truth, he even felt disgusted with himself for even having a feeling toward the she - cat, be it happy or sad.
A familiar voice snapped him back to the present and he rose his head, angling his ears towards Snowpaw to take in his words. "For softies like you? Don't know if you'll be able to last a heartbeat." he mumbled a reply, trying to hide the fact that he hadn't dared say anything to Softpaw. Why? With a sigh, he stepped forward to help in the tidying up. As he padded past Softpaw, he jumped to the side instinctively when he felt his fur brushing ever - so - slightly against hers. Flattening his ears slightly towards his skull, his gaze flicked to the floor as he continued on. He raised his head as he arrived at the mess, staring at Galepaw. "You don't have to help. If anyone has to clean up alone, it's him." he nodded towards his snowy brother. Shifting his weight to his hindquarters, he began to expertly re - make the nests, putting to work the endless hours of doing just that in the other dens to use.
Once they were done, his rump touched the ground as he yawned. Redpaw glanced sideways towards the entrance of the den. "At the moment, I've nothing to do. Cricketleap doesn't even seem to be around much." he responded to Softpaw's earlier statement about him being busy as the medicine cat apprentice, feeling bad that it had taken him so long to reply. Wait. Why would he even feel bad? This is just mouse - brained..
