Ashpaw’s eyes drooped groggily as he yawned to his heart’s extent. He decided that he should retire for the next day the moment his magpie was buried after being eaten. He took a bite again from the fresh-kill laid in front of him, which was picked by Harmonypaw herself as a gift of apology. He wanted to finish his meal quickly so he could be in dreamland again. He needed to prepare for tomorrow, since there would surely be a lot more training to be done. A day-off itself was already a miracle for an apprentice with such a strict mentor like his.
He was becoming too absorbed in getting sleep that he had forgotten that Harmonypaw had done something strange to him. He had only remembered the fact again when he had heard her get so nervous about it. The things the she-cat had said, however, didn’t answer Ashpaw’s question and left the tom in a confused state of mind. From her tone, Ashpaw could believe that she had no clue whatsoever on why she had done such thing. If the tom was in his right state of mind, he could’ve badgered her with questions, but since he’s too sleepy to even hold a conversation, he left the awkward situation in his mind.
Just as when Ashpaw was going to finish the remains of his food, a purr increased the awkwardness in the air. The tom shot his glare at the source of the noise. Sandpaw! She had a sly look on her face. There’s no doubt about it in Ashpaw’s point of view. Of course I’m not after Harmonypaw! It’s all Swiftpaw for the win! He then went back to his magpie, breaking his gaze at Sandpaw, and went on finishing the rest of it. He didn't care for others' opinions anyway.

Harmonypaw Today I'm gonna try a little harder Gonna make every minute last longer The scent of another cat washed over her tongue. She flicked her ears to hear the laughter, or was that a snicker. She couldn't tell. She flicked her ears. A thought crossed her mind about how she looked right now. She was acting like a nervous love-struck kit, but not because of Ashpaw, and certainly not because she felt that way towards him. I'm not interested in Ashpaw! She thought forcefully flicking the thought from her head with a twitch of her tail tip. She narrowed her eyes and glared slightly at Sandpaw. Her hazel eyes seemed to flash deep copper and she turned back to Ashpaw waiting for his response. Nothing. he didn't say anything. He just sat there and ate his magpie like the arrogant tom he was. She flicked her ears back pinning them against her skull in embarrassment and frustration. She couldn't believe it. She'd just apoligized to him not once but twice for her actions and he couldn't even stand up for their non-romantic relationship. She dug her claws into the earth of the den and turned toward Sandpaw her, the desire to give her a good tongue-lashing almost overwhelming her.
She stood and looked at Ashpaw once more, her eyes flashing hurt for less than a heart-beat before she looked back at Sandpaw hear heart racing and filled with anger. She didn't know what to say to her, but she wanted so badly to say something. She lashed her tail behind her and and tried to force her fur to lie flat. It was raised all along her spine and she looked like a puff ball, her fur raised and sticking out in all directions. You could say she looked a little flustered. "At least I don't sit around the den all day making assumptions about my denmates." She spat under her breath. She turned and stalked out of the den and moved to the middle of the clearing. She sat down and let herself fume for a few moments. She felt her heart beat begin to slow and she closed her eyes feeling hot tears stinging her eyes. What am I so upset about? She asked herself flicking her tail and growling under her breath to herself. She scuffed the ground in front of her with her claws, dragging deep gouges in the ground. Still not knowing why she was so upset she looked up at the sky and blinked repeatedly forcing the tears to hide back in her eyes never to reach her eyelids or cheeks.
She flicked her ears frustration and hurt coming off her pelt in waves. She needed to do something, she needed to find some kind of outlet for her pent up energy. As she sat thinking about what had just happened guilt crashed over her and she felt bad for having treated Sandpaw the way she had. hopefully the she-cat would come out and she could apologize. What is wrong with me today? She asked herself. First I treat Ashpaw poorly, then I snap at Sandpaw for no reason She shook her head slowly, still feeling where Ashpaw had dragged her away from the den entrance. Her head hung and she looked at her paws and the scratches in the earth in front of her. She didn't know what was wrong with her. She didn't know why she had licked Ashpaw's ear, she didn't know why she felt so betrayed, so hurt by two cat's she barely knew. She twitched her whiskers and sighed, not wanting to think about it anymore.
Gonna learn to forgive and forget 'Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it (Lyrics Credit to "One Day Too Late" by Skillet)

SANDPAW Sandpaw crunched on her thrush thoughtfully, a moment after she caught Harmanypaw's hiss. At least she spoke her mind. She thought. It was better than Ashpaw's reaction to the commotion! That was for sure. Sitting there like a lump on a log, per say. Typical tom. Sandpaw lifted her head and stared at Harmonypaw, she had to answer this cheeky she-cat! "Well Harmonypaw, I must say that I surely don't sit around gossiping with Dancingbreeze! I've made it out of the den if you can believe it and relieved all the apprentice's of feeding the elders today." She flicked her tail at Harmonypaw, opening a space beside her. Even if she did sit around gossiping with Dancingbreeze all day, she ought to be hungry. Sandpaw motioned to the half-eaten thrush at her paws. "Want some? I've had my share."
She surely had. It had been an excellent day for hunting. The forest was rich in prey early in the morning when her mentor sent her out near dawn. About sun-high she brought back her first catches of the morning. A rabbit, a mouse, and a thrush. After she had fed the elders and queens she had went back to hunting, caught a mouse for herself, a vole and the thrush. She snorted, Harmonypaw didn't have anything to complain about!
Well, since she was up still she might as well groom herself for a while. That might make me sleepy enough... She thought. Proceeding to do so, she began to groom her pelt with firm rhythmic licks.

Ashpaw grumbled at the sight of the two bickering apprentices in front of him. After Dancingbreeze and her apprentice’s bout come Sandpaw and Harmonypaw’s. She-cats; they’re always talking and they keep breaking the silence. Can’t they manage to shut their mouth once in a while, especially when it’s dusk? He had just finished the fresh-kill that Harmonypaw gave him, but that still didn’t buy enough time for him to sleep. He thought Harmonypaw’s gift of apology and Dancingbreeze’s act of humility would mean he could sleep soon, but then, a wild Sandpaw appeared, giving the awkward situation a more awkward feeling.
Ashpaw was alright with Sandpaw and her quite teasing purr, but when Harmonypaw wasn’t able to control her thoughts, the calico she-cat had managed to bite Sandpaw’s bait. He hadn’t said anything about it because he knew that those types of words were only meant to catch other’s attention. She probably wanted to talk, but why start a conversation with a joking purr? He watched Harmonypaw looked upset by her actions and Sandpaw reply to her coolly by even offering the younger she-cat some of her fresh-kill. I don’t even know anymore if Sandpaw is bullying Harmonypaw or not. She’s teasing her, yet she still acts nice...
“If you two would be my den-mates, I would rather be the medicine cat’s apprentice,” Ashpaw sighed. He had always wanted to sleep since he arrived back to camp and all he got isn’t what others call “peace.” There’s always someone talking in every corner of the camp that even a usually quiet cat like Harmonypaw is forced to talk a lot. Knowing that he can’t end this exchange of words without exhausting him more, he sat down at his nest and waited for the apprentice’s den to turn quiet again.

Sandpaw pushed the thrush nearer to Harmonypaw's paws. Her eyes were thoughtful, and all the same...mischievous. She knew that Ashpaw would pop soon, making a snide comment at the two she-cats. She decided not to push the situation any further, she didn't like to make other cats angry. Especially if she had them as denmates! But she couldn't help but flick her ears in amusement when Ashpaw finally said, “If you two would be my den-mates, I would rather be the medicine cat’s apprentice”Sandpaw practically choked on her own fur. Lifting her head away from her flank, she blinked in mock surprise at her denmate."Ashpaw! I never knew you were so interested in sorting leaves and getting mouse bile out of your prey." Then, her eyes flashed mischievously. "Besides," Sandpaw flicked her feathery tail against Ashpaw's ear playfully. "You'd miss us in the apprentice den!"
While talking to Ashpaw, she had noticed the look of exhaustion clouding Ashpaw's eyes. Heaving a tired sigh herself, she nestled deeper into her nest. She had had enough action for one day. Though with Harmonypaw still awake, she knew she wouldn't fall into sleep until later and after the extremely embarrassed she-cat hit the moss. Blinking open her sleep deprived eyes, she glanced at Harmonypaw. "Finish the thrush an we can all sleep, yes?"
Breathing deeply into her fur, her body warmed quickly and her pounding muscled ceased to ache. She breathed a sigh of relief. As usual, Sandpaw started to think about tomorrow's agenda. Perhaps she could convince her denmates to come hunting? That would be fun. It had been a while since she had been hunting with other apprentices. She mostly conversed with warriors these days and was scheduled for patrols with senior warriors. Deciding she had nothing to lose, she decided to ask anyway. She figured their mentors would have plans for them, but it wouldn't hurt to take a easy day for hunting, would it? Lifting her head, she glanced at Harmonypaw, then to Ashpaw. "You guys want to go hunting tomorrow? I'm sure my mentor won't mind if I take a day for hunting." She paused. "If you want to, I mean." She lay her head back down into her soft fur, but her ears were yet pricked for an answer from the two apprentices.

Harmonypaw Hear it, I'm screaming it You're heeding to it now Her hazel eyes flashed as she heard the offer of the thrush, and she felt her stomach grumble in response. She hadn't eaten all day. Not sense she'd cleaned out the dens at least. She padded toward Sandpaw flicking her ears but feeling the anger and embarassment burning in her chest. As he denmate spoke to Ashpaw about becoming a medicine cat she felt a chuckle rise in her chest. it bubbled forth and she felt all hostility fade from her. She'd made up with Ashpaw and Sandpaw hadn't meant to be cruel. She smiled and flicked her ears gratefully at the she-cat. She bent down as Sandpaw nudged the thrush closer to her. She tucked her paws under her and bit into the thrush letting it's nutrients fill her bones and body giving her strength. She flicked her gaze toward the entrance and saw that the sun had set. Night was falling and with it brought a draft from the clearing and into the den. She shivered fluffing up her pelt before turning back to Sandpaw and nodding gently. "Hunting sounds good. I've not been out of camp all day."
As the words left her mouth she realized that that's probably been the cause of her foul mood. She shook the feeling from her shoulders and finished the thrush with a few bites. "I'll just go burry this." She said and stood moving her toes to get the blood flowing again before opening her big mouth one more time. "I'll be quiet when I come back. I hope you cats are sleeping." She mewed and bent down lifting the remains of the fresh kill and turning her tail sweeping behind her just over Sandpaws head. She was careful as she stepped around ashpaw not to disturb his nest at all. She slid out into the clearing without incident and padded toward the dirtplace. She sighed around the thrush hanging from her jaws and thought to herself. I am such a mousebrain...what in starclan's name made me react that way? She flicked her tail angry that she'd let her emotions get the best of her. She slid into the dirtplace tunnel and scrunched up her nose against the sharp scent.
She burried the remains quickly and turned about slipping quickly back into the clearing. She paused just outside the tunnel and took a deep breath of fresh air and looked at the sky the stars sparkling and seeming to smile upon her offered her hope for the hunting the three would do the next day. She smiled and padded slowly toward the den and her nest. As she came close her jaws parted in a large yawn and she slid silently inside the den. She paused to let her eyes adjust to the pitch black of the den before spotting her nest and heading quietly for it. Her paws hit bracken and she turned in her nest flattening the moss down. She lay down tucking her tail over her nose and curling her paws under her chest and hips. Good night friends She thought and let out a soft purr closing her eyes and finally drifting into sleep. Hear it! I'm screaming it! You tremble at this sound (Lyrics Credit to "I'm So Sick" by Flyleaf)
