Starlingpaw, much to her Clan's dismay, is sly. She can usually slip away without being noticed, be there one minute, talking with a happy smile; then the next, be gone. Just like that. It would be very hard to train this newly appointed apprentice, whoever her mentor shall be. Some cats, especially the older ones, think of her as the typical apprentice. Hard-headed. Mean. Picky. And of course, sly. So you could classify Starlingpaw as pretty much all of those. Her slyness could also wrap any tom around her paw, twirling him with such ease until he falls for her. But that trait won't be learned until around warriorhood.

Picky[/size]
As mentioned above, the "common apprentice" is picky. Well, that is true about Starlingpaw. She doesn't care if she is popular or not within her own Clan - she could care less, actually. But when it comes to being picky, it is about two things: food and the cats she hangs out with. Her food must be clean. She checks quietly to see if it is fresh and clean before taking a bite. No cat knows about this, and hopes that it will grow out of her since she won't have time to clean her fresh-kill when she's an apprentice. From birth to now, every day it has been better. It will grow out of her before she is a warrior, but for now, she has this little problem. As for the cats she hangs around, she doesn't want to be seen with a stupid, stinking something that is younger than her. She would rather be hanging out with a cat that is the same age as her or older.

Mean[/size]
Starlingpaw is also very mean. She won't give a mouse tail if your kit just died; she will treat you the exact same way as the cat that just gave birth to a healthy litter. Being cold means that she has grown up around no friends except for her brother, newly named Blackpaw. The two cats are commonly mistaken for ShadowClan cats due to their dark, black pelts and cruel personalities. Falling under mean would be that she doesn't care who you are - if you are harming her Clan, she will kill you with no questions asked. So is Starlingpaw loyal? Yes and no. Yes: she would kill to protect her Clan. No: she doesn't care who is getting hurt - if there is a choice between saving herself or another cat, she would go ahead and let the other cat go. It doesn't matter what Clan. That's how rude Starlingpaw can be.

Kind[/size]
Oh, are you surprised? Along with being mean, Starlingpaw can be caught being unnaturally sweet and kind to other cats. She is a loveable, charming cat if you're lucky enough to see this side of her. It rarely is unleashed, and if it is, it is around toms. Unlike some cats, she doesn't like fooling them into loving her, but she unfortunately does it naturally. She doesn't know if it happens to fall in her genes or anything, it's just there. Starlingpaw wants to find the perfect mate when she is a warrior and start a family. Although she can never see herself with kits, she knows they are apart of a normal she-cat's life. So she plans to have more than one litter with a tom or two, then finally find the mate to stay with forever. Or just one lover to stick with. Over time, this good side of Starlingpaw will show more and more often, especially if she finds a crush around her age or older.

Loveable[/size]
Once you get past the rocky, hard exterior, there is a loveable she-cat just waiting to be loved back. Starlingpaw, deep down, is truly sweet and kind. Every cat in RiverClan is already used to seeing her all mean, so she doesn't want to change her appearance. She thinks it would make her look bad. So being the "ignorant little apprentice" that she is, she toughly sticks to her decision. But she will give up that contract when she earns her warrior name.

Outgoing[/size]
Starlingpaw is outgoing. She can talk smoothly to anyone, usually not hesitating unless she is in trouble or talking to a high authority. When it comes to talking to a medicine cat, a deputy, or a leader, she is respectful for obvious reasons. But talking to a know-it-all warrior or a snooty apprentice is when she disrespects them. Going back to being outgoing, Starlingpaw will say anything about any cat, even if that cat is right in front of her. She doesn't even care. There may be a rare occasion where her mouth is closed, and even then, cats would be like, "Where is Starlingpaw to 'correct' that?" She can usually carry on a conversation with no trouble unless she is distracted.

appearance:

In short, Starlingpaw is a pure black she-cat with stunning blue eyes. Going more into detail, her fur is medium length long. Her whiskers are hardly visible, meaning they are unnaturally short. Her claws and teeth are a normal sized, her claws a little more over the average, however. Her claws are black as pitch, but her teeth are a smooth white color, contrasting against her dark pelt. Starlingpaw's tail, unlike a lot of cats, is the same fur length as the rest of her pelt. There isn't much to describe about her fur since she is a very dull cat with a boring coat. Her paws are average sized. So you could say that nearly everything about Starlingpaw is average.

Her eyes are the most pretty thing about Starlingpaw. They can be freezing cold and shock you with their fierceness, or loving and full of warmth. Usually they are dull and expressionless, showing no feelings unless she wants them to be unhidden. Although they are bright against her black pelt, they are dull to the rest of the Clan due to their coldness. Her ears are sharply-pointed at the tips, also normal sized. Starlingpaw can basically be described as a rude black she-cat with cold blue eyes, and is how she is usually told around the four Clans.

history:

It first started out with Starlingpaw's parents. Darkthorn and Howlingsong were complete opposites; Darkthorn being timid, Howlingsong being obnoxious. After their warrior ceremony, they had grown very close. Then it wasn't long before her mother, Howlingsong, was expecting kits. This didn't surprise the Clan, since it was obvious the two were in love. Soon later, Howlingsong gave birth to two kits - one who was pure black with green eyes, the other black with blue eyes. Darkthorn grew angry, telling Howlingsong that blackness didn't run in either of their families. Howlingsong explained that it could happen, but their father didn't listen. He'd already run off.

Later, Howlingsong dubbed her kits as Blackkit and Starlingkit. She filled their little minds with goodness and innocence. But whenever they asked about their father, Starlingkit especially, Howlingsong didn't want to talk about him. Darkthorn still lived in the Clan, but she treated him no different from any other warrior, so the two kits could never guess. They grew up living without a father, which didn't seem to bug them too much. But when they were about two moons old, Darkthorn came to visit them. He told them that he was their real father, that Howlingsong shouldn't have kept him a secret from his kits. That was when they learned who their father was.

Darkthorn and Howlingsong argued about their kits soon that night. But it soon turned to Darkthorn pleading for her to be her mate again, claiming that the past moons were the worst ones in his life. Howlingsong was unsure, but didn't say yes or no to the question for them to become mates again. Starlingkit and Blackkit heard this quarrel, but didn't understand a lot of it since they were so young. In the next days, Darkthorn was dropping hints that he loved her once more, staying by her side and volunteering to train their apprentices together and hunt. After that, they became mates again. Starlingkit learned to dislike her father, and didn't even count him as one. Instead, she looked at him as her mother's tom friend. She didn't know how Blackkit felt about him, but didn't really care.

When Starlingkit hit her fifth moon, Howlingsong was pregnant with her second litter, even though she had one in the nursery still. Starlingkit and Blackkit disliked that their mother was pregnant and worrying about new kits already. They grew apart from not just their father, but their mother as well. As they looked closely at Darkthorn and Howlingsong's relationship, they saw that it wasn't the best. She once overheard the elders saying that their mother was oddly friendly with a tom from another Clan. Either they were joking, or they were telling the truth. Starlingkit didn't dwell too much on the subject, however.

Now she is an apprentice, using the name Starlingpaw. Her past doesn't effect her personality or influence anything now. She rarely thinks about it, even more so to talk about it. Starlingpaw will always hate her "siblings", especially when she finds out they are just half-siblings and their half-Clan cats. She will always hate Thistlestorm, the father of Sparrowkit, Slatekit, Riverkit, and Zerokit, along with Howlingsong.
