Before the city "went to the dogs", tourists and residents would stay involved in various activies along the Atlantic Ocean. Once the small city's economy fell, many home owners left their summer homes abandoned, and hotels became more vacant. After decades of excitement, Charleston fell and became the home of canines whose owners had long gone away. The dogs still kept their faith; they were beautifully shaken.
