Names: Duskkit Duskpaw Duskmist
Gender: She-cat
Age: 65 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Medicine Cat
Personality:Foul-MouthedDue to Duskmist’s weakness as an apprentice, the she-cat learned how to defend herself, not with claws, but with words. Her insults can be as sharp as a bramble’s thorns and what’s worse is that she can throw them around like they mean nothing. She doesn’t even care whether or not her insults were very personal or controversial to the cat she talks to. It also seems that not a single conversation would end without her cursing or saying something rude. You may not want to meet her when she’s in a bad mood, or you’ll face the wrath of her words.
BitterDoing respectable and honourable deeds aren’t enough to make the gray tabby feel better. She even resorts into finding faults in other cats to cheer her up. What's more, she keeps thinking about what are lacking in herself, making her insult others. Once she’d be cheered up, she notices more negative facts about her past or her inability to do something and the cycle begins. She also gets jealous about other cats’ achievements and successful plans, further making Duskmist a more depressed and envious RiverClan cat.
CalmDon’t get too nervous, flustered or serious whenever you’re in Duskmist’s sight, for the gray tabby will remark something about them. If Duskmist has something she is proud of, it would be her cool disposition. Whenever she faces something difficult, dangerous or complicated, she still remains collected throughout the whole ordeal and takes her time to think of an appropriate solution. She doesn’t even act with time pressure when dealing with emergencies. One can even say she has this ‘grace under pressure.’
StubbornDaring and brave, Duskmist is the one who can face all challenges and would try to conquer them all, no matter how many times she tries. She doesn’t give up easily on life, despite all the dreadful things that happened to her dreams and hopes. They may have distressed the cat, but Duskmist remains to be headstrong in helping and supporting her dearly loved RiverClan. With all the disadvantages given to her, she still tries to prove that she is a useful member of her Clan in as many ways as she can.
Appearance:Being bulky and muscular in appearance, no cat would’ve thought that this she-cat is a cat used in healing her comrades, not battling with them. She is a much bigger than any ordinary warriors in her age-group, making her look threatening and intimidating. Her muscles are seen through her short well-groomed pelt, showing signs of her persistent training of her younger years. A powerful and well-respected warrior she may have been, if only her claws weren’t too damaged enough to cause a small trauma to the she-cat.
As an apprentice, Duskmist appeared to be quite pretty. She has this beautiful and slick fur, colored in a simple yet pretty gray and adorned with darker stripes, showing off the tabby pattern that lives within her pelt. She sports bright and attractive emerald-colored eyes, which seem to twinkle every time you look at it. She may not be the most beautiful rose in a garden and remain to be a simple flower, but as they say, Simplicity is Beauty.
Due to her once broken claws incapacitating her during her days as an apprentice to become a warrior, Duskmist had tried improved herself to make up for it. She has longer and stronger legs, for running around the forest. Her sensitive ears and keen sense of smell had allowed her to locate prey easier and scent for enemy cats better. Most of them, however, haven’t been used for a long time since she stays at the camp.
The seasons have changed for a lot of time since her claws were broken, and now, they have grown too long due to Duskmist's perpetual care for them.
History:Duskkit was born from the love of two loyal RiverClan cats; Morningflower and Stoneclaw. She was the only kit from her mother’s first litter, which was rare for young queens. As a result, Duskkit was able to absorb all the love of her parents, with no one to share or split it with. Her father was always there to support her in being a warrior while her mother played withvand protected Duskkit. Her parents named her, not for her dusky color, but for the time of her birth. Never did her parents know that their daughter would live up to her name.
Duskpaw originally wished to be a strong and well-respected warrior. She wanted to be like her father, powerful and skilful in battles, and her mother, graceful and fast as a hunter. She knew she would be able to inherit at least one of her parents’ skills and be a great asset to the Clan if she learned from a good mentor. Unfortunately, their leader gave her an inexperienced warrior as a mentor, newly graduated from apprenticeship and absolutely naive about issues concerning the Clan.
Once she was out hunting, her mentor allowed her to hunt alone. It was just her first week and she hadn't obviously got the hunting positions. Too bad her mentor wasn’t there to guide her when she accidentally slipped off of a rock and broke her claws. She knew it would hinder her towards her dream. Her loud wail was enough to alert her unintelligent mentor. The poor warrior brought his apprentice back to camp, where her mother and the medicine cat quickly tried to fix her.
Broken claws would heal over a long period of time, but Duskpaw felt as she wouldn’t be able to become a warrior if she missed just a single meeting. She wouldn’t be able to become a good warrior like her parents if she doesn’t turn into one. She won’t be able to get the respect of her Clan when they laugh at her uselessness. She wouldn’t be able to hurt her opponents in battles or feel the ground more properly when hunting. She wouldn’t become the perfect warrior of RiverClan as she would’ve dreamed of.
That is, until the medicine cat inspired her to be a medicine cat. Though not directly, her words “there can be other ways to help the Clan besides using claws,” helped Duskmist achieve what she have reached by now. She had forgiven her previous mentor and had trained under another mentor through the ways of the medicine cat. She had loved being able to become a help in the Clan, whether they be hunting, fighting and even healing.
Soon, her mentor died peacefully in her sleep. She could still visit her in her dreams and as a medicine cat; she would have to bear the whole Clan in her shoulders. Her claws were slowly healing again, now that she doesn't use it anymore. Duskmist is now a true and successful medicine cat and it would take a lot of dedication to make her think that she is now useless.
