Names: Ashkit Ashpaw
AshfrostGender: Tom
Age: 8 moons
Clan: ThunderClan
Rank: Apprentice
Personality:IntrovertAshpaw was always alone in the corner. He keeps his thoughts with himself and talks about them only once in a while. He rarely even interacts with others, let alone be friends with them. Though not technically shy, Ashpaw just doesn’t prefer any loud and feisty cat babbling things beside him. Even if faced with a difficult task, he’d even think twice before asking any help from anyone. For some reasons, cats always think he’s sort of a loner. Although he’s always cooped up in his own little world, Ashpaw is waiting for someone who will be kind enough to be willing to break through his cold exterior and guide him through the world of friendship, or even love.
SelfishAlmost everyone cares for themselves dearly, but Ashpaw does in an extent. He will do anything just to make his life easier and to make himself more respected. He won’t allow himself to be caught disobeying the Warrior Code if it was to make him an outcast, yet he can also break it if it would give himself a good reward. Bribery would also work well with poor Ashpaw, as long as it meets his expectations. Since Ashpaw’s self-centredness caused some cats to look down upon him, the young apprentice promised that he’d avoid thinking of himself first before his clan. His promise gets fulfilled... most of the time.
SmartAfter finally becoming an apprentice, Ashpaw is known to think better than most of the apprentices of his age. He can answer questions fluently and direct a chat to another topic easily if he doesn’t know what to answer. He knows when it’s time to get serious or playful. Ashpaw also knows when to fight and when to run away from a fight. He can quickly respond to any life-and-death situation and analyze a problem to find the best possible solution. He can think of the best strategies in battle and find the fastest way to catch a prey. He only relies on his experiences as well as his natural instinct, making facts like friendship and mates out of his question.
LawfulAs a ThunderClan cat, Ashpaw is true to his words. He knows what is good and what is bad for a young age. He believes that a strong sense of justice should be followed in all four Clans. Ashpaw knows when to forgive others or seek revenge. He can even sacrifice for the sake of those who need it. Although he reflects with his brain rather than his heart, his actions speak that even the smart and cold Ashpaw can make a pretty risky decision for the sake of following his belief in justice.
Appearance:Although he is not as attractive and eye-catching as any other toms of his age, Ashpaw isn’t the one that you can call weird appearance-wise. He isn’t too big or too small as an apprentice. He isn’t that handsome or ugly either. The young apprentice is an average cat based on his exterior as he doesn’t have any distinguishable markings or scars that may differentiate him from the others.
His short, well-groomed brown pelt covers his body, along with the tabby patterns decorating it. It is thin enough to cool him down during Greenleaf and is usually not long enough to keep him warm through Leaf-bare. Ashpaw always tries to keep his fur sleek and tidy, giving it a good grooming whenever it gets dirty. His small delicate paws and fluffy kit fur give him a very young apprentice look. His wide green eyes also add up to this. With an innocent appearance that he has, he receives special attention from others.
History:During a cold and freezing weather, a brown she-cat named Dawnwhisker started kitting under a hollow ash tree. With her was a good friend of her, the medicine cat’s apprentice. Though they have only planned to collect catmint for leaf-bare, an unexpected delivery happened. The medicine cat had been forced to bring the queen with her because the other warriors were either hunting or patrolling the ShadowClan border. After hours of labour, two she-cats and a tom were already new members of ThunderClan. Their father, Flamepelt, would’ve been proud if he hasn’t left the Clan.
Born from Flamepelt and Dawnwhisker, the tom didn’t live a wonderful life at the start. He was named Ashkit for the shelter her mother had during her kitting as well as for the ashes of his mother’s memory of his father’s flame. Ashkit has his sisters named Emberkit and Sunkit, which were both named after their parents. The litter didn’t share the nursery with any other queens or kits, so the three developed a very close relationship with others. Together, they could fight anything that stand in their path.
He was originally the most cheerful and energetic of the three, until something tragic happened. The storage of catmint ran low and greencough spread like forest fire. Dawnwhisker was the one affected most. Ashkit’s sisters were also affected because of Dawnwhisker’s milk, but fortunately, the tom survived. He has been the strongest from the litter from the start, but now that his family is suffering with greencough, Ashkit felt very weak. Eventually, his family slowly died from the deadly sickness. If Dawnwhisker and her friend had managed to acquire the catmint before her kitting, they would’ve still lived till now.
The harsh weather has been already cleared when Ashpaw finally earned his new name. He was less than enthusiastic to receive it without Emberkit and Sunkit. Ashpaw remained passive with his training since his apprenticeship that had happened two moons ago. He hardly volunteers whenever the deputy arranges patrols and even makes excuses to escape chores or training. Though it happened when he was two moons old, Ashpaw will never let himself get close to a cat for the fear of being hurt again. He didn’t blame himself, but he still took the burden of his family’s death.
RP Sample: “Roar, I’m a LionClan warrior!” squeaked a little brown tabby.
Ashkit had always assumed the position of the one who terrorized. He liked to hear the excited squeals of his sisters as well as the feeling of being big and powerful. He liked being able to chase away anyone at his command and scare anything with a step of his paw. He liked almost everything with the game. His confidence swells during every moment of triumph against Emberkit and Sunkit, both of which run back to the nursery when Ashkit does the moves he saw from the apprentices.
The brown tabby kit watched his sisters scamper across the clearing, running away from their brother. Fits of chuckles and laughter filled the camp and every side of the stone hollow sounded of a kit’s laughter.
That’s my cue! Ashkit chased his sisters, with little paws trying to run fast and tail held high with joy and excitement. Clouds of dirt flew in all directions for every step the little ThunderClan kit made.
“Here comes the LionClan warrior!” Ashkit warned them.
Ashkit forced his paws to run faster. He has to get there before Emberkit and Sunkit make a refuge from the elder’s den. If they were to make it before he reaches them, the elders would definitely reprimand them for being too noisy. Ashkit took a deep breath, and then sprinted over Emberkit and Sunkit. His legs were longer and stronger so he was sure to reach them soon. When he was a mouse-length away from Sunkit’s tail, he quickly bunched his legs and pounced on the smaller she-cat, bowling her in the process.
Ashkit quickly ran to Sunkit’s side, feeling sorry for his actions. He hadn’t meant to hurt his sister during their game. Dawnwhisker would scold them if they harmed each other while they have fun. Tail drooped down and ears flat, he tried to apologize to the ginger she-cat. If Sunkit was hurt, he wouldn’t even forgive himself for doing so. He was the biggest of the three and he was the one that should be protecting her from harm.
“I-I’m sorry...” came a weak apology.
