Protective
Cricketleap, like a lot of medicine cats, is very protective, especially of his Clan. He is protective of all cats, from newborn yet to the oldest elder. Since he is so protective, it makes younger cats look up to him, even though he is young himself. Bold is another one of his qualities that fall under this. Boldness forms his protectiveness and molds it together like mud. He vows to always take care of his Clan until the day he joins StarClan. Also, since he is protective, a lot of cats dislike him. But then, a lot of cats like him because of this. It all just depends on what the other cat's personality is.
Kind
This tom, although he may not look like it, is very kind. Cricketleap would risk his life for a cat, but the cat must be of his Clan. Did I surprise you there? No, I doubt it. Anyway, the cat he saves must be of his Clan, otherwise he's out of the deal. He was trained to be a warrior at first, so he still has the stubborn, hard heart of one. But gradually that ice around his heart has melted into the cat he is today. He would rather save a cat from his Clan than from another, obviously. That's the kind of cat he is. He doesn't go around giving other medicine cats his herbs, either. That would just be helping them heal their warriors, which could end up killing one of his cats.
Fierce
Despite his calm side, there is also a side of Cricketleap that is fierce and stubborn. He is especially stern to all kits and apprentices, no matter what Clan. Whenever cats get into his herb supply and mess things up, he takes a different tone by being loud and firm. The older, more mature cats hardly do this, so he isn't as much so with them. Cricketleap can also be somewhat rude and sharp-tongued when he needs to be, but that rarely happens. He isn't really quick-witted in battles or anything else, and over time, he has begun to loose his ability to hunt and fight. This is probably one reason why his fierceness is at this level, because he is angry with himself.
Stubborn
Cricketleap is also known for his stubbornness. He refuses to believe a lot of things, especially when StarClan tells him what it is. Foxtrot, his mentor, had problems with him in his past because of his fierce stubbornness. The one cat he is especially hard-headed toward is to Foxtrot. He always used to interrupt his mentor to the point where Foxtrot had to run out of camp to get away from his apprentice. This trait in Cricketleap has slowly dimmed down a bit after Foxtrot's death, much to everyone's relief. But from time to time it can come back, so just watch yourself and what you say in front of the medicine cat.
Unforgiving
Cricketleap is very unforgiving. If a she-cat, no matter who it would be, breaks his heart, he'd never forgive her. There would be no exceptions, then he would suddenly despise that cat instead of loving her. If she ever ran off to another tom, he wouldn't like him as well. But he would probably feel more forgiving toward the tom since the she-cat picked him. If you couldn't tell, this unforgiving air is directed toward she-cats and her mate, even though Cricketleap isn't supposed to have one. He may still be unforgiving if it ever happens to him.
Thoughtful
Cricketleap is very thoughtful. This is probably one of the things that stand out most about the medicine cat. He can think his way out of a fight, know when he is being tricked, and usually can tell when a cat is lying to him. So yeah, it would be a bad idea for another cat to do that around him, or just plain lying to him. If he may ever have to go to a battle, he would probably quickly plan it out in his head before it even happens. So his thoughtfulness may also be classified as intelligence. Either way, they are both correct.
appearance:
Cricketleap is a large tom with neon green eyes. His muscles are sharp from training to be a warrior. His hunting skills are excellent because of this, but fighting is not for this big tom, even though his size may be intimidating. His claws are unnaturally unsharp for a cat, which is probably why his fighting skills aren't very good. He is mostly gray with a white belly, white legs, white chest, and a white streak going up his nose. His nose is pink dappled gray. His tail is normal sized for a cat, along with his ears and teeth.
history:
Cricketkit was born to Fernfang and Cloudstorm. For his bright green eyes, he was named for them, and was soon dubbed the name Cricketkit. He was a young, healthy kit with no problems, as the same for Thunderkit, his sister. He grew up quickly, already looking like an older apprentice due to his large size. It was a passed down thing, however, since his sister was almost as big as him and his father a huge warrior.
As apprenticeship grew near, Cricketkit found himself in the medicine cat den one day when he got a cold. It was nothing really, but his parents fretted over him with a big fuss. Foxtrot, the medicine cat, was slow in the process due to old bones. His mother was frightened that his cold could worsen to greencough, so she snapped frantically at Foxtrot. As the medicine cat gave Cricketkit the proper herbs, he was fascinated in how "stupid" leaves could heal a cat's wounds or sickness. He was excited, actually, because that day he decided to become a medicine cat apprentice.
But it was more difficult than that. When he suggested the idea to Cloudstorm and Fernfang, the two were outraged at such nonsense. They told him that he would be a warrior no matter what. Then he would become Cricketstar, and Thunderkit would be his loyal deputy - or the other way around. Cricketkit, despite his kind personality, objected, saying how much it meant to him to be a medicine cat. His parents laughed, gave him a swift lick on the head, then went hunting.
After that, the bond with his parents wasn't all great. But the time spending with his sister increased, and soon they became apprentices. They were both given inexperienced warriors as their mentors, since the leader wanted it to be like that. As much as Cricketpaw was disappointed with his mentor and being trained to be a warrior, he tried as hard as he could on most things. He cleaned the elder's den without being asked, but his mentor, Coldfoot, ordered that he must be told to do something. Coldfoot then sent him to look for ticks in the cat's pelts. At that task, Cricketpaw was delighted. He got to see Foxtrot again that day.
Every day after he was finished with his daily chores and hunting, he spent as much time with Foxtrot as possible. He didn't know how Thunderpaw felt about him becoming a medicine cat, and didn't have time to ask her throughout apprenticeship. Going with the medicine cat every spare moment enraged Coldfoot, which probably was because he was a really young warrior. In battle practice, all Cricketpaw did was talk about Foxtrot and what herb was running low, and that he would have to pick it after classes. Because he was so distracted, he already had many scars from Coldfoot swiping at him. He has a small nick in his left ear from his mentor and his frustration with his apprentice.
Coldfoot soon grew so angry with Cricketpaw that he confided with Thornstar, the ShadowClan leader. Coldfoot had supposedly told him what Cricketpaw was doing and how he was obsessing over the medicine cat and his herbs. At first, as he saw Thornstar strutting through his den, he thought he was angry. Then Foxtrot joined him, padding out of the leader's den with an old and confident gait. But Thornstar had come up with a solution, asking Cricketpaw if he wanted to be the medicine cat apprentice. Both Cricketpaw and Coldfoot were stunned to silence. Then Cricketpaw finally asked them if they were serious. So from then on out, Cricketpaw was a medicine cat apprentice, even though Coldfoot wasn't happy with it. Soon his old mentor got a new apprentice, one that was "good" and actually listened to him.
He still was unsure if his sister agreed with him becoming a medicine cat, but his parents hardly spoke to him since he became one. However, later on Thunderpaw became a warrior, earning herself the name Thunderbrook. For a moment he wished he was with her, but he knew he had his own destiny. The thoughts of Cricketstar were no more. After Thunderbrook and Cricketpaw went their separate ways, they were still very much connected.
When Cricketpaw was 37 moons old, Foxtrot was suddenly attacked by a dog while collecting herbs with his apprentice. A nearby warrior heard, and came to the rescue. The warrior, Foxtrot, and Cricketpaw fought off the dog, but the medicine cat was badly injured. Cricketpaw, with his huge size, carried his mentor home, where he died on his shoulders. Cricketpaw was furious, screaming into the pine forest that night and crying his head off. The warrior that had helped save Foxtrot told him not to worry, that he had died as he lived. He's protected his Clan chasing off the dog. Although this didn't cheer Cricketpaw up, he knew the warrior was right.
Since Foxtrot had such a sudden death, Thornstar had to name him and give him his new name. Foxtrot had once discussed to him on the way home from the Moonpool to name him either Cricketheart or Cricketeyes. He told the ShadowClan leader this, but he decided to name him after his hunting and jumping skills even so. So he named him Cricketleap. This made Cricketpaw - newly named Cricketleap - angry. He bitterly wished he could go back in time and not go out looking for burdock roots, then Foxtrot would be alive. He would have his full name as Cricketheart, which was his favorite out of the two Foxtrot had suggested. The warrior, who seemed to have a close bond with the new medicine cat, told him he should be happy for his name. Could the warrior had guessed what he was thinking from the shocked, enraged expression on his face?
Cricketleap healed his Clan for two moons, and at 39 moons old, he plains to do this the rest of his life, despite the frustration that came out of him throughout his life so far. He has forgiven Coldfoot and Thornstar - both now dead - for their sins, and plans to speak with them in StarClan and tell them his apologizes. Who knows, maybe Cricketleap will find a mate sometime soon, even though it is against the warrior code?

The breeze was surprisingly cold as it sailed over WindClan hills. Long grass was whipped back and forth, swaying like the ocean's waves. The sky was stormy blue with low black clouds nearly touching the ground. Rain was on the way; the musty scent hung in the air like the swirling fog. The sun was hidden by a dark shield of cloud. Off in the distance was ThunderClan territory - the forest. From there, no birdsong rang, making an eerie feeling fall over the whole Clan territories. Stepping out of the drying ferns was a dusty orange tabby tom with stunning blue eyes and a chopped tail. He stood, watching the black woods, the trees swaying dangerously in the harsh wind. The tabby's eyes narrowed, pupils turning into very thin slits. If he had a tail, it would be lashing in fury right now. Even though he had no quarrel with ThunderClan, he knew that they called his Clan weak. Every Clan did. But why would any cat want to slink under the trees like a fox? At least the other two Clans had sense. ShadowClan lived in the marsh, hardly any trees grew there. RiverClan had next to none as well. As for WindClan... they didn't have any. But that was the way it should be. When the tom blinked, the anger faded away into sadness. The leader of WindClan - Sparrowstar, as the Clan cats called him - was remembering his terrible past, and what had happened to his family. He would have died for them. He wished he could go back in time and have slayed that badger to save them... but he couldn't.
Birchpaw, how stupid his bigger brother had been, when he'd attacked that badger with no signal at all. Did he think he could take it down by himself, or that the little family would help him? But he didn't blame his sibling - he would have been like that if he was braver. That was when the badger had killed him. It took Goldenpaw next... Sparrowstar shivered as the memory passed through him. It had ripped his littermate to shreds with its long, sharp claws. Then it had pounced on Dappledface - his mother - and snapped her spine in two, like a twig. His eyes widened, and he started to shake. Then Willowpaw, with nowhere to go, just bolted, and he never saw her again. The Clan had guessed that she had been hiding somewhere, and the badger had gotten to her. There was no body found, but it had probably been hungry enough to eat cat. Stormcloud, Sparrowstar's father, told him to run. And he did run, faster than ever. If he hadn't of been born in WindClan - the cats with the strongest legs built for running - then the badger would have probably caught up to him and killed him. But luckily he survived. The only thing the badger did was rip off his tail, right before it was going to break his spine. Stormcloud had saved the apprentice by slashing the badger's nose. Sparrowstar remembered the blood that pattered onto the yellow grass, and the badger's eyes went from angry to enraged. Then, Sparrowstar - Sparrowpaw at the time - ran, without thinking about helping his father. But what good would one apprentice be against a huge, monstrous beast? So he had run back to camp. They also never found Stormcloud's body, but they knew that he was dead. How could a warrior survive against a lumbering, full grown badger, especially one that had just killed three others?
Sparrowstar shook his head, clearing the foggy memories. He realized that he was still shivering, whether from cold or fear, he didn't know. His eyes were stretched wide until his whites were showing. Claws dug into the mushy grass, as if holding onto the world he knew, so that he wouldn't get swept backward again. What if his Clan saw him like this - what would he do then? They couldn't know that their leader was still sad about his dead littermates and parents... they just couldn't. Blinking away his history, his gaze swept around. As he did so, a tiny droplet of rain pounded on his head. He looked up, and more were falling down, faster and faster than before. The tabby leader wondered if he should go home and shelter in his den. But what good would that do? My den is outside, so anywhere I go, I will always be wet. He didn't mind getting wet and staying out in the open, but for some reason, this day he was acting like a stinky ThunderClan cat. Scowling, he slowly padded forward. By now it was pouring, and within a couple of heartbeats, Sparrowstar was soaked to the bone. He wasn't exactly fit to be a WindClan cat. He had broad, muscular shoulders, but he was fast and small, like a cat that came from the hills. With his ears pinned flat on his head, he trotted toward Fourtrees - the only place he knew where to find shelter without trespassing. Shivering, he ran over to one of the giant oak trees on the WindClan side and huddled up close to the wet, dark brown trunk, searching for warmth. He scooted in beside a root and began to lick his fur dry until it puffed out. He hoped that no other cat saw him and joked that now WindClan cats like trees. Because he didn't like trees, they were just the only shelter when he needed it. Now look at you - you're turning into a ThunderClan cat! You don't have any connection with ThunderClan whatsoever! No friends, no mate... no family.
