Dawn. Such a peaceful time within Windclan borders. Flurrypaw considered this as he stretched out, letting a yawn slip between his jaws as first light spread through the camp. It was colder than he had remembered it, a sorrowful sign of leaf fall's coming. He shivered, surely today he would see some training, as his apprenticeship was complete, and his mentor was out and about. It might have been that he was over thinking the excitement of the first day, perhaps he wouldn't get to do anything at all.
The sun grew taller as he rose from the ground he had been sleeping on. Perhaps other cats might even find it strange that Windclan cats slept under the sun, but there was a certain relaxing feel to it. A closeness to the nature that the clan takes from. Surely this was the way that all cats should live. It brought about a moment of pride, one in which you feel closer to something bigger than yourself. Something powerful. It was during one of these moments that Flurrypaw found himself completely unaware of the outside world.
He could hear the distant cries of kits, the casual discussion of the patrol as it gathered. The soft presence of the elders as they awoke from heavy slumber. For without these things, this camp was a shallow dip in the ground. Lifeless, without the cats that inhabit it. Flurrypaw turned, noting the absence of Foxfeather, his mentor.
"Flurrypaw!" Came the cry of an aging she-cat. His head turned, almost disappointed to see that it was only his mother. What does she want, anyway?
"You really must change the bedding in the nursery, Flurrypaw." She said, twirling around to face the dens.
Flurrypaw sighed. He hadn't even been trained yet and he had to clean bedding? "Alright," he grunted unhappily as he softly stepped away from her. "I'll do it as soon as I get a chance."
The howl of angry wind shook the camp, and Flurrypaw shivered. The way things were looking, they were having a taste of the new season. Though still the trees had yet to change color, presenting a beauty that few things matched. Finding a place to sit near the mouth of the dens, he watched anxiously for his mentor.
This is already looking like a long day..
OOC:Left it short and in camp for now :]
Also, this is my first cat rp in years, so it might be a
