Spottedpelt So where will you run If the sky starts falling When your home is nowhere to be found
Her eyes darted this way and that as she stood in the hollow. The camp was deserted or so it seemed. There were no unfamiliar scents there, no scent of sickness, or fear, but something deep within her told her this was wrong. Something was terribly wrong here. She looked around again and then it hit her. She could see no movement from the dens. They seemed empty and deserted. She furrowed her brow and opened her mouth to call out, but before she could she began to see cats drawing themselves out from their dens as if it were dawn. She looked at the sky, but the sun shown clearly at almost sunhigh and again she furrowed her brow. As she watched the cats emerge some were shrouded in darkness. She couldn't see their faces, their features, let alone their fur color. They were like shadows, melting into the gathering clan and none seemed to notice, some even stopped and talked to the cats in such a way that they appeared friendly. Spottepdlet tilted her head trying to understand what the vision meant because she was wise enough to realize she was dreaming. The dark cats had an evil about them, something that she feared more than teeth and claws. It was an evil that tasted of trickery, and deception. She looked at the cats and as one they turned and rushed at Wildstar and Ghostcry their claws unsheathed aiming to kill them both. Spottedpelt lifted her voice and let out a caterwaul of alarm.
Her own voice echoed around her den and she leapt to her feet as she took in the scene that had just played before her minds eye. The cats in the shadows, those who seemed to melt in and out of the clan as one, as a group. What did it mean. She shook her head She knew that this had been sent from Starclan for the message was clear enough. Somehting was wrong in Thunderclan. Something that she needed to be warned about. She flicked her ears and began to groom her fur, taking the time with each stroke to recall every detail of the dream. As the dream soaked in and she recalled even the desperate fear she felt as the mass of shadows erupted toward her leader and deputy she knew what to do. She lifted herself from her nest and padded back toward her herb stores. She slipped inside the crack which through the many seasons since the clans had arrived here had widened slightly. She pawed through the herbs and took mental note of what she needed gathered before the days end, Catmint, for greencough, for I'm sure it'll turn up...Chervil and Juniper berries for bellyaches, and Lavender for fevers. She nodded and turned around in her store careful to keep the piles from falling. "Could always do with more cobwebs too..." She said letting her voice trail off.
She flicked her ear toward the entrance of the den and sighed. She knew that the day would be long, and that she would have much to do even before the evening patrols went out, or before the hunting patrols came back. They seemed to be coming back later and later...and with less and less prey. She had noticed Wildstar was dropping weight, more so than the rest of the clan, this along with her dream set her paws in motion before she'd fully decided what she was going to do. She slipped out of her den and padded toward Wildstars. She bounded elegantly up the rock path, her thin frame moving swiftly up the slope. She of course had also been taking less prey, keeping the clan healthy was her job, and that included Wildstar. She paused at the entrance to his den taking in the scent of the morning, dawn was near, and it was then that she realized she had been up before the dawn patrol and she rolled her eyes. Such an early morning Starclan. surely you could have held off until after sunrise. She thought before turning back to the task at hand. "Wildstar." She caled gently into his den. She wondered for a moment if Ghostcry had been sleeping in his den again. She'd been watching since he had appointed her deputy, and the pair seemed to grow closer by the day. She smiled wryly and licked her lips. Couples were so cute. Will you remain Unscarred beyond relentless crawling When your world comes tumbling down

It was a normal night full of nightmares of decoys and promises of destruction coming from StarClan. The four Clans were in danger and were about to be turned inside out. How the threats were real. They were coming soon. War was closer than before. Every single second of every single moment was walked with danger - especially for every cat who held a high position or was just respected among a handful of cats. That meant that not just only leaders, deputies, and medicine cats were in danger, but senior warriors as well. Unless, of course, they were decoys. No, then they were safe and out of harm's way - unless someone uncovered their secret. Wildstar's particular dream that night was nothing out of the ordinary at first, but then it started to change. Decoys were everywhere. He was in a dark forest much like ShadowClan's territory, although he smelled nothing but mushrooms and the smell of dampness. Yellow eyes glittered in the darkness. Some were red, purple, orange, brown, green, or blue. They slithered all over him like snakes, hissing his name to nothing and everything. What was worse was that he couldn't escape. He couldn't even move. And they didn't even harm him... it was like they were waiting for him to break. To torture him. What kind of cat could be so heartless?
He woke up shortly before dawn. StarClan was right; the threat was coming to the real world. He and Ghostcry were in trouble. No, not just them. Any cat who wasn't a decoy was. And for all he knew... all of ThunderClan could be decoys except for he and his deputy. What if Ghostcry is a decoy? That would be like the end of the world to me... he thought, a frown clear on his face. He looked up sharply as he heard his name being called. Someone wanted to talk to him at this hour of the day? Or had he just imagined it? Just to be safe, he meowed quietly, as to not wake Ghostcry, "Yes?" He sniffed at the air, then immediately knew that it was just Spottedpelt. Good. One of the few cats he trusted among all of the cats around the lake. "Come in Spottedpelt," he murmured, loud enough for the medicine cat to hear but soft enough for Ghostcry not to wake up. Instinctively, he wrapped his tail around the certain white-and-black she-cat curled up on his belly like a kit. A purr escaped his throat as his striped black tail touched her own dappled one. Then his tired yellow eyes looked up, wondering why Spottedpelt was up so early and what she wanted.

Spottedpelt Today I show my face And whispers turn into screams, Visions of what might have been Her ears flicked forward and she heard the slight movement inside, and a whispered 'Yes?' She tilted her head wondering if she'd really heard it. Why was he whispering. She parted her jaws and took a deep breath, drawing the scents over her tongue, and scent glands. She could smell Wildstar, and Ghostcry. She smiled to herself and flicked her ears again as his response came. He must have scented her as well. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and slid into the den, padding forward on silent paws. She smiled at him dipping her head gently as she took in the scene before her. Ghostcry was curled around Wildstar, her head on his chest, their tails almost intertwined. This is love. She thought to herself and blinked warmly at Wildstar before remembering what she was there for.
She came to a halt in front of her leader and friend, and spoke in a soft voice, so as not to disturb Ghostcry. She trusted Wildstar with her life, What medicine cat didn't trust her leader. But she also approved of his choice of deputy, and that, being the situation that it was, would be rare in any clan. She sighed slowly, and her eyes betrayed her fears, and concerns. "I need a few herbs and I was wondering if you'd care to accompany me." She paused for a moment, knowing that this in itself wouldn't be enough. She needed to tell him...if not details, at least that she'd had a dream. "There are matters I wish to discuss with you. I've had a dream." She flicked the tip of her tail as images from her nightmare flickered through the back of her mind. She didn't know what it meant, the dark shadows, the fear she'd felt, the evil emanating from cats in her own clan, but she knew that something was coming, and it was after Wildstar and Ghostcry. That's what mattered. And what will never be Conforming to rejection Coexisting pain until abnormal is routine Lyrics Credit to "Visions" by Abnormality
