J A D E S O N G ,
The cream - flecked warrior approached the WindClan border with caution. Though this was a different clan, past experience told her to be very, very cautious. In all honesty, she should have known that. It had been drummed into her since kithood. However, having received no luck hunting by the stream, she had fallen, desperately, to some other sort of solution. It seemed her paws had lead her onward, through the majority of her territory now, in search. She was tired and frustrated, but above all, desperate. Her paws fell light upon the ground now, as she approached both the prey and crossed the border line. Her head told her this was so very wrong, yet her heart reminded her of all her beloved clanmates that could suffer without the much needed food. After all, the prey had been on her side. That did it.
She increased her pace, focusing on remaining as quiet as possible. With her limited experience and vague knowledge of catching woodland - dwelling prey, she thought this be the best approach. The large mouse paused, and with it so did it's hunter. She was now terrified for more reasons than one. It seemed it had caught wind of her approach and she was now in danger of putting her position on the line for naught. She gritted her teeth, and her usually placid gaze became intense and narrowed, the emerald in their depths glittering. Jadesong felt strangely resiliant. She leapt forward, having snuck two paces forward. However, she was not prepared for the force of her leap and was easily thrown off balance, sending the prey scattering. 'That's right, just run away. .' she muttered, bitterly, feeling too desolate to even begin to give chase.
'At least you had the chance,' she added, as more of an afterthought, for her own status was still at risk. Though the prey may have escaped, she had not yet whisked herself back over the borderline. She was not about to make the ridiculous suggestion to herself that she go on forward, just to see what the glade ahead held. No, she was going to turn away, right now. . But how tempting it was! One paw moved in a forwardly direction, before her tail lashed against the ground and she had fallen to her haunches. A small 'oof' escaped her as she did so, and she hastily rolled herself in a complete circle, for she had fallen heavily. Now, she half - lay, half - sat, pleading with herself. 'Come on, Jadesong!' Her voice had now risen to a cry and she hastened to stifle any further words from escaping. Why did she have this weakness? What was it that made her so curious to explore other territories?
