Splash, splash, splash! Small white paws jumped against all of the nearby puddles made by an earlier drizzle. Small pools of rain formed irresistible play things for any young apprentice. While elders and other warriors avoid them because these puddles might soil their pelts, the white-pawed apprentice didn’t seem stay away from any of them. In fact, he seems to enjoy jumping around the puddles, spreading mud and water around him and entertaining him at the same time. He likes taking advantage of what other cats regard as useless. They aren’t useless for him at all, anyway. I hope Peachblossom would come soon , the small white cat thought. It was his first day out of the camp and he wanted to explore their territory right away. He’d know every spot where the prey lurks or even every spot where the medicine cat’s herbs grow abundantly. He had always wanted to become the best warrior there is. With the help of Peachblossom, the white apprentice knew he’d get what he wants if he works hard for it. His mentor might be a younger and even less popular than the other warriors available to become a teacher to an apprentice, but this white cat believes that if both the mentor and apprentice would learn, they could help each other excel in whatever lesson they need to be trained to. Peachblossom getting an apprentice would give her a chance to prove her responsibility while Snowpaw would learn the ways of the warrior. Splash, splash, splash! The white apprentice continued to smash his paws on the small bodies of muddy water. His pelt was beginning to have large smears of brown and sticky mud while the water from puddles had spread all over the area, making the surroundings as marshier as it could be. The apprentice’s originally white pelt had appeared dark brown because of his dirty ways to have fun. Though the now-brown apprentice would’ve liked it if he was more presentable in their first day, he couldn’t pass the occasion of having puddles to play with. Older apprentices hardly have enough time for play, so he might as well seize the moments. His white clean ears perked up as he tried to find signs of his mentor, Peachblossom. He had run away from her because he wanted to see their territory as soon as he was able to. Unfortunately, he took a wrong turn and ended up being lost. He didn’t hear any yells from Peachblossom for him to slow down, or maybe it was just because he was so excited to be training to become a warrior. Whatever the reason is, he is sure that his mentor would find him. She would’ve stayed as an apprentice if she didn’t learn basic tracking skills. As he waited, the apprentice decided to kill some time. Splash, splash, splash!

Stifling a purr, she meowed softly with amusment, her milky green eyes shining in the morning sunlight. "I see you're pepped up and ready to go, shall we set off Snowpaw?" Of course, Peachblossom knew for sure that the answer would be yes, she decided to tease him a little by making him wait. Patience was a task you would need as a warrior, and the pretty she-cat knew she better start instructing him soon. Flicking her tail, she jestured to his filthy pelt and gave him a look that read you've been having some real fun, haven't you? She paused before she began to lick his snowy pelt, well now more of a muddy pelt, of all the dirt and leaves that latched onto him so fiercly. In case the leader came by, the sweet Shadowclanner didn't want to think they were slacking off. Once she finished with the motherly task of grooming her new apprentice, she eased her way into a standing position and began to pad off towards the border. The calico patterned cat had silently decided on making this day dedicated to showing him the land, for she didn't want Snowpaw wandering into any other clan's camps. That would be embaressing to both him and the whole of Shadowclan. Of course, she didn't leave without splashing in a few puddles herself. She wasn't that serious you know.
"Now, this is the border. Never, ever, ever do you cross this invisible line here. Never!" Peachblossom whispered into the ear of her snow-white apprentice, then licked him delicatly over the ear. She hoped he wasn't zoning out on her, so she decided to take him on a more exciting little adventure. A smile spread upon her face, and soon she was happy as a kit in newleaf. She was going to take Snowpaw into the wonderful world of....hunting! This, of course, was Peachblossom's specialty, and the whole clan knew it. Not a single cat in Shadowclan could hunt as well as this introverted she-cat. No, she wasn't trying to brag, it was just a fact of life. Flicking her ear in the direction of some shady pines, she strolled off in that direction, confident her cheerful apprentice was following behind. "Now, here I will teach you to hunt, alright?" The she-cat murmered, not wanting to scare off any possible catches. Then, as if on cue, a crow landed only a few paced away. The warrioress gave Snowpaw a look, telling him to stay hidden in the brambles, and she began stalking the plump bird. It was quite a big specimin for leaf-fall. Narrowing her soft emerald eyes at the oblivious bird, she pounced without a sound and landed expertly on its back. With a swift bite to the neck, it was dead. Silently she thanked Starclan for the bird's life and then she trodded over to the apprentice, who was still cowering in th bushes. Peach couldn't tell whether he was amazed or frightened, so she decided to ignore his expression all together. I wonder if he wants to try it next...or maybe he will want to practice battle moves....

Snowpaw was just jumping around the puddles when his mentor, Peachblossom, had arrived. With her sudden mew, the white apprentice almost leapt from his positions. As the calico she-cat asked whether or not start their first day, Snowpaw began keeping up all his excited mewls. He was “Let’s go!” this and “Come on!” that. He was too busy being excited that he did not notice Peachblossom’s tongue rasping smoothly at his grimy and filthy fur. Bits of dirt and mud quickly fell off of his fur, leaving the curious apprentice wondering what Peachblossom tasted from his pelt. It must’ve tasted pretty bad, as Snowpaw would’ve guessed. Before he knew it, he was all clean and his mentor was licking herself clean, as if she hopped in a few puddles herself. When she was finished, the duo had made their way towards the border. Snowpaw didn’t mind whether it is the ThunderClan border or the RiverClan one. All that he cares is that they’re going away to venture their territory. “Now, this is the border,” The calico stated, showing the white apprentice a wide stretch of land. A different scent from their Clan lingered on the other side. “Never, ever, ever do you cross this invisible line here. Never!” Peachblossom made her point at not crossing over the border, but Snowpaw was still confused. They were patrolling the whole place for a while, visiting ShadowClan’s borders and other landmarks of their territory, but still, Snowpaw couldn’t cram all the information in his simple little brain. He definitely wasn’t the brightest cat of the Clan and definitely not one who can memorize things in just a single glance. He tried keeping his spirits up from his hurt head by telling himself that he can commit their borders to memory one day when his mentor had finally decided to break the ice and showed something that apprentices normally couldn’t do in their first day- hunting. “Now, here I will teach you to hunt, alright,” Snowpaw’s mentor whispered to her apprentice. She obviously wanted him to be quiet, to which she successfully made him. Peachblossom began stalking a plump crow. It was as black as the night sky, the color opposite of Snowpaw’s. The eager white apprentice watched his calico mentor blend into the scene and swiftly killed the bird. She picked it up and returned to the bushes where Snowpaw was supposed to be hiding. As his mentor dropped the fresh-kill, the snowy apprentice became more excited than before. “I want to do that to!” he exclaimed, with a tone of both amazement and aspiration. “I’ll go look for more crows!” he exclaimed. He really wanted to impress both his mentor and his brother, Redpaw, with an amazing catch on his first day of training. Without waiting for his mentor’s signal, the white apprentice quickly sprinted from Peachblossom’s crow and ran deeper into the forest, where succulent pieces of fresh-kill and the warm smell of prey’s blood awaits the excited apprentice.
