At first I was a bit skeptical of this. But then I saw it on HALF of the sites I visited. Here is one for example - one of our affiliates.

Read the huge words at the very top and listen to that warning. I'm thinking about canceling sign ups for probably the next week just to be on the safe side and maybe even taking down the c-box. I'm not sure what would happen to a site if that happened to them, but it if means getting a virus on a computer / the site getting taken down, it needs to be done.
Please comment with what you guys think and if I should cancel sign ups and remove the c-box temporarily. |

I'm basing this off personal experience, as the PM was sent to all members on another site I happen to be a part of.
Well, I would suggest to disable the sign - up's for a week or so. I think proboards themselves is trying to sort out the issue. [It's been discussed a lot on PBS.] The member on the other site made an actual account, sent the PM, then never returned. They didn't target the C-box, in this instance, so I'm not sure how much of an issue it is. It seems like they send the one horrible PM then move on. In short, with what I've seen, leave the chat unless a spam message is sent, and limit / disable the registrations.
Also, it was suggested on the Support forum to limit advertizing for a little while . :3 I know that sounds kinda bad, as sites depend so much on the whole advertizing system. . Anyway, that's my input!

i know im new and i still don't know anyone. but i think that you should disable the sign-ups as well. i have had expeirence with something like that. and it really isn't very fun for anyone. i also agree with the cbox. sometimes a site has to be prepared for the sick minds out there and make sure that it doesn't happen to them as well.

Do you guys know what happened to the site? To the people's computers? I don't fancy this one dying or closing or getting my computer jacked up even more. I need some more people to reply on this before I decide. I just don't want to cancel sign ups and take down the c-box with two people's consents. |

I actually just got a PM on one of my other sites from Mossmask, who was on here a few days ago looking for me. Anyways she said that PRobords support has taken care of the Hacker/Spammer issue, not that we shouldn't be careful but the major threat has passed.
