Stormbelly Deep in her heart, the thunder rolls. Stormbelly sniffed gingerly at her paws as she basked outside of the warrior’s den. They smelled of catmint, which she had been lucky enough to find on her patrol earlier. She didn’t know anything about it, except that it smelled good and she couldn’t stop sniffing her paws. She’d strolled through it by accident, and had backtracked to give it a good smell. Deciding that she liked it, she’d promptly crushed a few leaves between her pads, reveling in the cool juices that soaked into her fur and stayed there.
It made her fur shiver and her tail twitch every time she smelled it. How lovely. Flopping back down into the dry soil, Stormbelly soaked up what little rays the sun had left to offer. Leaf-bare was in full swing, and while her stomach wasn’t as rumbly as it usually was at this time of the year (Yes, that was where she’d gotten her name; she was always very hungry when leaf-bare came around, and her stomach growled incessantly with it’s need for food. She never quite understood why she was always hungrier than the other cats; she just was). She felt pleasantly full from her afternoon meal of a small chaffinch; it wasn’t as big as what she was used to, but it was enough.
She made a mental note to go hunting later on in the day and replace the bird she’d eaten. She couldn’t afford to let the fresh-kill pile get any smaller than it was now. Otherwise her stomach would nag her throughout leaf-bare. Yawning widely, Stormbelly cracked open her eyes, her body curling in on itself as she rolled and tucked her paws in the air. She stretched them high, flexing her pads and staring through her spread toes towards the pale sky. With a contented purr, she tucked her paws back close to her chest, tail twitching happily. It was days like this, even when the wind was biting and the air was cool, that she enjoyed most.
Basking lazily in the sun was always welcome. Stormbelly wasn’t necessarily lazy, no; she just appreciated a day that was perfect for lazing about. And today was that day, she decided, closing her golden eyes and twitching her whiskers, back paws sticking up in the air in a comical display of contented abandon.

Harmonypaw Well, there's no place that I'd rather be Well, it's two hearts And one dream She felt like she was walking on a cloud. She had done nothing all day, but she hadn't been in camp. Being so close to leaf bare it was easier and easier to sneak out of camp to meet Finhpaw. She flicked her ears and slid into the camp, the small mouse she had wouldn't necessarily be enough to quell the camps hunger, at least she'd contributed this time. And for once she didn't feel exhausted. As she slid into camp she caught a glimpse of Stormbelly rolling on the ground and looking at the sky through her paws. She shook her head and moved toward the fresh-kill pile. She dropped her mouse and then padded over to Stormbelly. She looked down at the warrior and flicked her ears forward. "Comfortable are we?" She asked lightly. She caught a slight scent of some herb like fregrance and wrinkled her nose and the sweet scent.
"What's that smell?" She asked sniffing again and enjoying the sweet tang of it. She felt the ground beneathe her paws and decided the grass looked confortable enough, Well. Windclan sleeps in the open don't they? She flipped onto her side and rolled onto her back. The sun warmed her belly and felt fantastic. "This weatehr certainly is unnatural isn't it? She asked twistching her whiskers and moving her shoulders abck and forth so as to scratch her back on the ground. A few clouds moved across the sky in slow rolls like lazy cats sunning themselves. She smiled at this thought feeling ehrself much like a cloud, all warm and fuzzy, comfortable in where her life had brought her. She was still just into her training but was definetly enjoying it still. She wasn't ready to be a warrior, she didn't want to leave the apprentice den. She liked her denmates. She flicked her tail happily and a face crossed her mind, Finchpaw's and she had to force down a purr before it was heard. No one could know about the tom. She flicked her ears and forced him from her mind drawing herself back to reality. She rolled back to her paws and felt her fur all pointing the wrong directions she quickly turned and groom it. I wouldn't trade it for anything And I ask the Lord every night For just another day in paradise (Lyrics Credit to "Just Another Day in Paradise" by Phil Vassar) Ooc:Sorry this is short...and not so great. =)

Stormbelly Deep in her heart, the thunder rolls...
Stormbelly heard Harmonypaw enter the camp, and even over the sweet scent of the catmint, she identified her easily. Her whiskers twitched, but she didn’t open her eyes, content to allow the apprentice to join her in basking in the very rare winter sun. It didn’t take long for the scuffle of Harmonypaw’s pads against the ground drew nearer, and when they did, Stormbelly cracked open an eye at the wry tone in the apprentice’s voice. “Quite comfortable,” she replied with a faint purr, her words as warm and amiable as they always were. She curled one paw towards her face, staring at it almost curiously, and then chuckled.
“It’s catmint,” she replied, rolling onto her stomach and gazing at Harmonypaw amusedly. “You look like a dandelion,” she quipped, indicating the apprentice’s fur as it stuck out at all angles. She could practically feel the contentment radiating off of Harmonypaw, and quietly wondered at it. She seemed unusually happy today, not that anything else was to be expected. But usually, leaf-bare brought dour moods and less happiness than the other seasons did. Perhaps she has found a crush, Stormbelly mused, thinking back on her days as an apprentice and remembering the other apprentices who seemed to act like love-struck blue jays when they found another cat to crush on.
She’d never been interested in finding a tom for herself. Stormbelly was one of those rare she-cats who seemed quite content to be in the company of others, yet never interested in taking a mate or finding love. Her philosophy was ‘if it happens, it happens.’ She was rather spontaneous that way, and she tended to let fate land where it willed. Since her trip to the Moonpool with Wildstar and her strange, but worrying dream of her mother and brother and StarClan, Stormbelly seemed to have more faith in their warriors ancestors, more of a ‘lead me where you shall,’ attitude towards them. She spent many nights staring at Silverpelt, wondering at what truly lay beyond, and spent many of her days mulling over her dream.
It was beginning to turn her into a bit of a philosopher, perhaps an idealist, and she wondered how such a small event could impact a cat so deeply. “Anyway, the catmint,” she began again, chastising herself for becoming distracted by Harmonypaw’s dandelion fluff fur. “I found it while I was out patrolling earlier and it smelled lovely. So it just walked through it a couple times.” She sniffed one of her paws and purred. “What, don’t like it?” she asked, indicating the weather. “It hasn’t been this warm during leaf-bare for many, many moons. The last time it was like this, I was no more than a kit just leaving the nursery for the first time.” She glanced at the fresh-kill pile, and ran one paw over her whiskers. “Been out hunting, have you? How did it go?”

Harmonypaw I'll be everything that I want to be I am confidence in insecurity She flicked her ears as the she-cat spoke and she felt her stomach tighten. She glanced up from her grooming and looked at the warrior. She knows...she must know Her heart lurched and she felt heat rise into her ears. She flicked them back quickly to hide the red tinge she was sure was there. How're you going to weasel your way out of this one? She asked herself and tried to think quickly. She listened to the warrior talk about the sunshine and turned her head back to her pelt, which still stood up like dandelion petals. She lifted her front paw and twisted her head under it and to her back to force down the fur there. As she worked she let her mind wander. Her last moon had been wonderful, complex, and full of new experiences. She'd moved to the apprentices den, and out of the nursery. She was about to see her first leaf-bare, and she'd met someone she cared deeply for. Things couldn't get better.
Her tongue lapped over her fur forcing it down and making it presentable again. The rhythm of her own tongue was the only thing that let her keep her cool as the she-cat mentioned her hunting and the wonderful weather. She didn't really have a good excuse today she was SURE there would be prey out and about, but the longer she was with Finchpaw the less time she had to hunt. She flicked her ears and finished grooming her back before placing her paws back on the ground and looking up at the warrior. "No it's lovely. I quite enjoy the sunshine." She said letting a smile play at her lips. She did have a good excuse perfect right at her paws. And one Stormbelly would appreciate. "So much in fact I sometimes find myself sunning instead of hunting." There, that was good enough, and mostly true. She looked to the sky and flicked her ears. I wonder where Dancingbreeze is.. She thought slowly. She knew that she needed to continue training, even if she was exhausted.
She was going to become the best warrior Thunderclan had ever seen. She flicked her tail and looked at the Stormbelly. "Will you take me hunting? Perhaps my technique could use a little work." She said flicking her tail around camp again. "I can't seem to find Dancingbreeze and I think it's good to learn from more than one warrior. Don't you?" She asked flicking her tail back around her white tipped paws and letting it fall elegantly around her limbs. She flicked her ears and turned her eyes to the sky and smiled again at the clouds that moved lazily across the sky. She didn't want to hunt. She wanted to stare at the clouds all day. "Or we can watch the clouds all day..." She said a bit dreamily. I am a voice yet waiting to be heard I'll shoot the shot, bang, that you hear round the world (Lyrics Credit to "

Stormbelly Deep in her heart, the thunder rolls.
Stormbelly cracked open an eye, regarding Harmonypaw quietly. She said nothing, though she was quite aware of the apprentice’s nervousness. That was odd. What did Harmonypaw have to be nervous about? What had she been up to? Stormbelly wisely said nothing, but it didn’t keep her from wondering about what Harmonypaw had to hide. Stormbelly had her paws full watching over many of the apprentices; she may not be their mentor, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t eager to make sure they all walked the right path. Deathpaw was worrying in and of herself, and her apprentice Swiftpaw was a good she-cat. Now Harmonypaw was acting twitchy, and Stormbelly wondered what was going on with the apprentices.
Her tail twitched curiously, and she rose to sit on her back paws, staring over at the apprentice beside her with a look of vague amusement and interest. “Sunning is quite lovely,” Stormbelly replied, a purr in her voice. “Nothing better, if you ask me. I feel as though I spend all my time lazing about lately. I haven’t seen Swiftpaw at all today, and Wildstar is out, patrolling the borders I imagine. It’s been rather lonely in camp today.” She glanced up at the sky, watching the clouds as they slowly drifted along, their meandering path taking them right towards the sun. Soon enough, the warmth was gone, and the clouds obscured the golden disc from view, blotting out it’s rays.
Stormbelly felt a claw of disappointment pierce her, but quickly turned to Harmonypaw with a surprised look. She had been asked, once or twice, by other apprentices, for guidance or help with their fighting or hunting techniques. She wasn’t much of a hunter herself; her talent lay in fighting and observing. She was rather good at seeing things that no other cat would spot, and she had a skill for keeping track of what was where and how it got there, and where to find it again like no other. It made her an excellent tracker, one of the best, whether she was stalking her favorite catmint, a trespasser, or even a mouse. “My technique could use some work too, Harmonypaw,” she admitted with a wry grin.
“I’m not the best warrior to ask about hunting. But I can teach you what I know, and how to track. I’m much better at tracking than hunting, you know.” She smiled as she rose to her paws, ears twitching in the direction of the tunnel that led out into the forest. “As much as I would like to watch the clouds, I find that they become quite a nuisance when they block out the sun. besides, we should probably try and pick up some more fresh-kill for the pile. Leaf-bare may not have hit us as hard as usual, but I feel as though it is only the calm before the storm. We’re probably going to be due a heavy snowfall anytime now and when that time comes, we need to be prepared.”
She shuddered just thinking about the snow; she’d always hated the cold. “Come on, then, Harmonypaw. Let’s go.” She turned gracefully and slid from the tunnel, waiting in the forest just outside of the entrance to the camp. All around her, the leaves lay barren and dead on the ground, and the trees were empty and lifeless. Outside of the camp, the wind was more biting than within, and it pierced her warm fur like an icy claw. Stormbelly shivered again, and decided she really hated leaf-bare.

Harmonypaw Just don’t stop lets keep the beat pumpin’ Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down She stood slowly her eyes dancing with excitement. She looked forward to learning from others, and this was a great opportunity. She had heard that Stormbelly was one of the best trackers in the forest, and she relished in the thought of learning from this seasoned warrior. She wasn't the best tracker, her strength lay in her observant manner, and her hunting skills. She was a pretty decent hunter. She felt energy surge though her she fought the urge to race through the forest. She smiled at Stormbelly and nodded quickly at the thought of the first snow. She didn't know much about it, but she knew it was white, cold, and fluffy. "What is snow like Stormbelly?" She asked twitching her whiskers inquisitively. She looked to the sky and felt a cold breeze blow in as the sun blinked out behind the cloud and a grey shadow covered the camp. She fluffed up her tri-colored fur and turned to follow Stormbelly at her beckoning.
She trotted happily to the entrance and paused to look back at the camp, checking once more for Dancingbreeze, She's probably off with a tom somewhere... She thought to herself and turned back to the entrance. The excitement returned and again she wondered where the energy had come from btu she gave a little kit like jump for joy and slid into the bramble tunnel careful not to let her pelt be pulled out by the thorns. Her sleeked down neatly groomed pelt slipped seamlessly through the thorns and back out into the grey of the forest. She looked around parting her jaws to take a deep breath and scent the world around her. She could smell some prey, but the scent of the camp was overwhelming and all but drown out the scent of prey or anythign else. "So, where to?" She asked turning to Stormbelly again and blinking up at were warmly. She looked forward to learning more from this she-cat and perhaps teaching her a thing or two as well. She was always looking to gain more friends, and a warrior was always a good addition to her group of friends. Another person she could learn something from, and involve herself in their lives. Its my party dance if I want to We can get crazy let it all out (Lyrics Credit to "Tonight Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae)

Stormbelly Deep in her heart, the thunder rolls.
Stormbelly hadn’t really thought about the fact that Harmonypaw was so new from the nursery, that she didn’t really know what hardship was. She’d never experienced it. Stormbelly worried it would be a rude awakening and a dampener to the bright apprentice’s spirit. “Snow is…” Stormbelly began thoughtfully, her tail tip twitching as she walked.
“Snow is the coldest thing you’ll ever touch. It’s not exactly like wind. Wind doesn’t always get through your fur or make you very cold. But snow gets everywhere, and it’s freezing. When it touched your fur, it sinks right through. For the most part, it’s all right, as long as you don’t stay out in it too long. It’s like frozen water that is all around, and if it melts, your fur stays wet, as though you waded through a lake or the stream. It’s just…unpleasant. But most apprentices enjoy it the first few days of snowfall. It is rather fun to play with and in. I even enjoy it from time to time, although I prefer the warmth to trudging through snow that’s up past my shoulders.”
She gave her fur a good shake, looking mildly ruffled as though the thought of actually trekking through the snow bothered her. Stormbelly really did hate the cold, and snow was no exception, no matter how fun it could be when you batted it around with a friend. Snow was just…bad. She glanced back at Harmonypaw, twitching her whiskers and hoping the apprentice wasn’t too discouraged by her description of snow.
“It’s really not all that bad. Like I said, it can be fun. So don’t worry about it. You’ll find out soon enough. The only bad thing about snow is that most of the prey goes into hiding. But there’s a trick to finding it, if you’re willing to learn.” She smiled secretly, quietly excited to pass on her knowledge to someone who was willing to learn it. She hadn’t seen Swiftpaw in some time, and even when she did, it seemed the she-cat was too busy to train. She wondered what she was getting up to lately.
Shaking the thought away as soon as it appeared, Stormbelly pondered on where to go. “Let’s try the oak,” she mewed, turning and setting a path straight for the ancient tree. “The prey is always plentiful there.” As she trotted on a path towards their hunting grounds, she paused, turning to gaze at Harmonypaw over her shoulder.
“Shall I teach you to track now?” she asked, looking faintly amused. “Because now is as good a time as any. I see a few prey paths we can follow from here.”
((OOC: I'm moving this to this thread so we can continue in the territories. Hope that's okay! ^^))
