His tongue swept over her ear and she sighed in it's touch a fire spreading from her ear down her neck through her back and into her chest. It met with her pounding heart and spread through the rest of her catching her up in it's power. She looked up as he spoke agreeing that they couldn't meet here, in the same place. She felt excitement at the thought of venturing into his territory, and at the thought of meeting in secret in the twoleg nest. Her mind whirled trying to figure out which would be best and safest. Her mind knew that it would be safest if they never met again, but her heart fought against the logic of it, she didn't want to hear it. She wanted only to to know she would see him again. She needed something to look forward to, something that would keep her looking to the future. She glanced toward the island but knew immediately that would be to far for them both to travel, thought their scents would not be questioned there. It was then that she made a decision knowing that it may cost her the trust of her clan if she was caught, but the challenge and forbiddenness of meeting him on his territory was too much for her.

"I can come to the clearing if you're sure it's deserted." She said touching him with her tail tip. She trusted him, perhaps more than she trusted her clanmates, this scared her a bit and she looked away from him out over the lake. She knew their time was ending and she hated it but the sun continued to inch across the sky no matter how much she willed it to stop and stand still. She looked back at Finchpaw and sighed. She forced her self to pull away from him feeling part of her heart detach itself from her and cling to him.She turned and gazed at him her hazel eyes churning with sadness and excitement. Sadness for the end of such a beautiful beginning with this tome, but excitement for what was to come. "Let's say we meet at the quartermoon?" She said knowing that was only a few days away. and hoping she could stay away long enough.

Knowing that if she didn't make a decision she would try and keep him near her forever, she forced herself to look back toward her clan, and she nodded decisively. "Where exactly does this clearing sit?" She asked turning her gaze back to him. This would be her last question before they parted ways. She knew that parting this time would be the hardest, and part of her felt a twinge of fear that he would not meet her, but rather, send a patrol out to capture her, but she forced the thougths from her head letting her trust in him remind her that he cared for her, and she for him. She wanted desperately to tell him the depth of her love, but she feared that if she did she would scare him away. They had only just met but there was something different about this tom. Something she hadn't seen in anyone before, not even in Oakpaw. She flicked her ears back and looked away from Finchpaw once more her eyes clouding with grief for her lost mate. But she forced the feelings down and decided she would deal with them later.Having controlled her grief she turned back to Finchpaw and smiled lightly at him. "I'll see you soon Finchpaw." She mewed and leaned forward brushing her cheek against his and purring. Her eyes closed and and she breathed in his scent once more before forcing herself to pull away from him again.

She looked toward her camp again and turned toward it not wanting to leave, but knowing one of them had to leave first. She was a few tail lengths away when she turned to look at him over her shoulder her eyes found his and she breathed gently "I love you" Her words hung in front of her in a mist of breath against the cold air but she hoped he hadn't heard her. She couldn't bare the thougth of his embarrassment and scorn at her feelings. She turned and padded back toward camp hope, and love warming her so the cold wind barely touched her skin.

F I N C H P A W ,

His heart leapt as she agreed with his plan. 'Of course I'm sure,' he mewed, his voice soft. I would never lead you into danger, was what he didn't add to the end, fearing it a little too open about his feelings. Her sigh made him frown; he hated to feel as if she was feeling any sort of worry, or negative emotion. He wanted the best for her; for them, though they had only met on this day. 'Like I said, my clan seldom uses it. It's just. . extra land. . ' He shrugged faintly, as if to almost dismiss the matter. Her soft touch reassured him that she trusted in him. He hoped against hope that he would not let her down. Though he really was sure there would be a high chance no Shadowclanner would come, he could not gurantee his mentor would not come snooping around, if he disappeared for a long period of time. He did not want to tell her this, though; that their time may be limited, because he so badly wanted it to last forever. When she looked at him again, her gaze was full of seemingly opposite emotions; sorrow and joy. He knew his own eyes would reflect something of the same, for this was indeed how he felt.

Her next words startled him a little, though filled him with a deeper affection for her. The quartermoon? Only a few days away? Why had he been expecting a much longer time period between their meetings? 'The quartermoon sounds great,' he purred, keeping his recent surprise under control. He did not know why it had come as so much of a shock to him. They both liked each other, it would make sense that they would meet as soon as possible. Mentally scolding himself, he opened his mouth to alert her, again, that he needed to be on his way, however she beat him to speech. 'The clearing? Hmm. . the best way I can think to explain it from is in relation to the stream. Once you find that, it's just across the other side. It's not very deep, don't worry.' He blinked at her, in what he hoped was a reassuring, yet not condescending manner. 'In terms of from ThunderClan. .' he mewed, a little softer as he half - mused, thinking through his response to her. 'I think if you just follow the stream from your territory, into mine. Just keep to the left, then you might not even have to cross it.'

He smiled at her, though he was a little fearful she may not be able to follow his rather rambled instructions all that well. 'I'll try to meet you at the edge of my territory, if you like. .' He said this a little softer, as she had leaned into him. 'I'll be waiting,' he assured her, his heart racing at the thought of seeing her again. He had begun to feel a little anxious, for he had seen unbelievable grief in her eyes, only heartbeats earlier. Was something the matter? Had she had enough already? He could not be sure, but he was certain she would tell him her problems, if not now, the next time. Her scent was amazingly strong, then fading. . fading. . as she retreated. He watched her back, though she never turned to give him one last look. He had already turned himself, when something made him stop; had she spoken? He could not be sure, but when his head finally reached the direction she was heading he noticed no change in her manner. With a faint shake of his own head, he stepped back, moving swiftly back into the heart of ShadowClan territory.
